After working for one of the largest tech companies for 15 years, I decided it was time for a change. While my technical, organizational and customer service skills were heavily utilized, I needed an outlet for my creative side. I found that outlet in videography and video editing.
It all started when I had a week off of work for my birthday several years ago. With not much else to do, I decided to make a video spoofing the rise in popularity of a band to whom my wife and I had recently become addicted. I taught myself how to edit in Adobe Premiere and some basic effects in Adobe After Effects. Honestly, it was pretty bad. But people enjoyed it and got some laughs. Luckily my skills have greatly improved since then.
For the past five years, I have been doing freelance videography, digital marketing and social media content creation. I've been fortunate enough to meet a few bands in Los Angeles and have worked with them on their fan club social media accounts. We all want to find that one job that doesn't feel like work and I believe I found it.
My true passion is shooting live music. Ultimately I'd love to be able to provide a low cost video solution to artists that are still grinding it out in the clubs. Put together live performance videos for their current fans as well as exposing them to possible new fans. Being friends with several artists, I know money is tight. But who says good quality has to be expensive?
During my personal time I live for adventure. I'm constantly traveling with my wife. We enjoy camping, hiking, cycling, mountain biking, and just about anything you can find in the outdoors. Of course, on our adventures, my video camera, drone and army of GoPros are never left behind.
